Welcome to my blog pages at Joanne Genealogy. I’m Joanne and I am a Qualified Genealogist, family historian and researcher. I have over 25 years experience in Human Resources (HR and CIPD qualified) and in business support, having been self-employed in various phases over my career to date.
I am located in the West Midlands with easy access to archives in Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and neighbouring counties. Originally from Lancashire, I have been researching family histories for over 30 years.
My qualifications include the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Master’s Degree (MSc) with the University of Strathclyde in Genealogical, Palaeographical and Heraldic Studies completing in 2023. From 2024 until at least 2027 I am engaged in PhD research on my project within the History and Genealogical Studies departments at the University of Strathclyde.
Therefore, as I am working on PhD research, I am not currently taking on paid work, but happy to take enquiries and pass them on through my extended network.
